First, the trip to Myanmar – for a complete report, we have posted an update that can be found at http://www.understandthetimes.org/mmfeb2007.shtml . In one year the Lord has blessed the work in Myanmar in a tremendous way. Understand The Times has been able to come along side several national (Burmese) Christians and partner with them in a number of projects. Several individuals and churches have also caught this vision and have assisted Understand The Times financially. In the next several months, we will be letting people know about these specific projects by radio and web cast TV programs that we are now in the process of producing.

For now, let me say that Understand The Times is supporting over 70 children and adults in the country of Myanmar. Approximately 60 children are being cared for (food, shelter, clothing and being given a secular and Christian education) that were barely surviving one year ago.

All of this has happened, because of God’s supernatural divine plan that has unfolded according to His will and His clear direction. I am grateful to the Lord for what He is doing. While several of these projects have been designated in memory of our son Bryce, all glory and honor belongs to Jesus. He has taken tragedy, and turned ashes into beauty. One of the upcoming radio and TV programs will give more details on the Bryce Lodge Dedication that was held while I was in Yangon. I think, if you listen or watch and listen, you will understand.

Second, I was supposed to be in South Africa right now. Upon returning from Myanmar, I realized that it was time for me to take some time and be home with my wife and family. There is no other way to say this – I am physically and emotionally worn out. In the two weeks that I have been home there has been a very positive change. Many of you on this list do not understand that Understand The Times does not operate with a staff of employed helpers. How much longer we are going to be able to operate this way, only the Lord knows. What I do know is this – I am physically not capable of continuing to carry the present responsibilities that I am carrying much longer.

Third, over the past several months, our web site has come under attack in various ways. Without going into details, let me say this – there are people, organizations, and “ministries” (so-called), that do not want Understand The Times to help people to understand the times.

While Mission Myanmar has been a great blessing to provide an offensive arm for Understand The Times, we also have a defensive arm. If you have read the phrase at the top of our home page, you will know that Understand The Times is “an International Missionary Outreach Dedicated to Reaching the Lost and Equipping the Church for Discernment.” It is the last part of this phrase – “Equipping the Church for Discernment” that has become the focal point for attack. Some of you will understand that a large portion of the “church” that was discerning in the past, has become less discerning, or not discerning at all. As we have attempted to sound an alarm and warn about what is happening and attempting to point people back to he Scriptures, fewer and fewer want to be warned or return to the Scriptures. (If you have read some of our recent commentaries, you will understand).

In order to protect the UTT web site, a number of technical changes were required. Technical changes do not always happen smoothly and without frustration. At present, our web site is still not functioning as it once was. Please bear with us. Lord willing, this will soon be resolved.

Finally, in the next few weeks, with further rest, recuperation and God’s provision, I will be back on the road. Presently, while home, I am working on several projects including the finalization of a new book called “Faith Undone: The Emerging Church – New Reformation or Last Days Deception.”
