January 8, 2009 This is a note to let our UTT subscribers know that I will be headed out on a missions trip January 12-28 to Myanmar and the Philippines. I will be accompanied on this trip by Larry and Debbie Demejo from Rochester, New York. While in Myanmar we will be spending time at four of our five Bryce Lodge homes in Yangon where we have over 60 children sponsored by people from around the world who support this ministry. These children are receiving physical care and education through our Bryce Lodge program and brought in a Christian environment. A fifth Bryce Lodge is located in a remote area of Myanmar where there are an additional 12 children. The leader of Bryce Lodge Five will be meeting us in Yangon. This past year, Understand The Times has assisted in the establishment of Yangon Grace Bible School which has thirty students along with five teachers and administrative faculty. I will be teaching at this school while we are there. In addition we are still assisting our people in helping those who were devastated by the terrible cyclone that impacted a large area of Myanmar this past May. While there, I will be meeting with our leaders to decide the best ways to distribute the resources we have been given in the most effective ways. Our goal in working with Christian brothers and sisters in Myanmar is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ along with reaching out and assisting in caring for the many physical needs people have. It has been a blessing to see how God has opened doors for the proclamation of the gospel in so many ways and in so many places. Following is a picture that was recently sent to me by Philip (our Myanmar UTT coordinator) showing a group of about 400 people gathered around a small DVD player monitor watching the God Story. The majority of these people are hearing the gospel for the first time. |
