God's Word For Today

Psalm 72:4

He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.

Comment:

This verse describes a basic principle of the Bible. Jesus said that the Word of God to be true, therefore this principal is from God and should reveal God's heart and man's heart. This also would mean it would be better to serve widows and orphans than to build a megachurch with a grandiose steeple. In fact, it tells us that those who squander their funds for material things are doomed while at the same time the children of the needy will be saved and given a special place. The first will be last and the last will be first.

Application:

Better to be a widow and or an orphan than a Christian in an organization that cares only about pomp and grandeur. Check out the �postmodern� church. While they say they are �missional� they ignore the gospel that really is the crux of Christianity.
