Proposal For Bryce Homes in India

Two local churches and their leaders in India are offering to participate in the Bryce Homes Program. This report shares what the Board of Understand The Times is in the process of deciding.

One of the churches has been sharing the Word of God among the downtrodden poor people outside of their city for several years. Their key goal is to serve the Lord, teach and preach His Word so that ultimately people may come into Christian faith, by knowing and surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ so that Lord’s name be glorified. One of our Understand The Times Board members has had contact with the pastors in this region for several years. We believe that God has directed us to this location to come alongside the church.

We asked one pastor to share his vision. Here are his words:

“During our journey we met a community of prostitutes and HIV effected parents and children and we shared the gospel with them, and gave them counseling to bring them and their children from their present condition. The mothers have now opened their doors to save their children. That gave us hope so we as Bryce Homes are ready to become foster parents for these children with all your support. These children are semi orphans, school dropouts, suffering with malnutrition and ready to enter the same profession as their mothers in the future. They look very beautiful. The foster parents that have volunteered from our church are unable to do this without financial support.”

This program that we are proposing provides a new way for Bryce Homes to help poor and desperate children. The possibility of having Christian foster parents and a Christian home environment will be a great blessing. Bryce Homes India will be able to give them food and shelter and raise them in Christian faith. Our goal through Bryce Homes is to give them a safe Christian home, proper education, lead them in Christian faith by educating them in prayers and Bible reading and attending church. Ultimately one day the children may grow strong in Christian faith and never turn back to the dark world where they were held captive. Our prayer is that they will become witnesses to the love of Jesus in their community.

Pray for Pastor W and his wife and the foster parents that God has raised up. May they be given wisdom, protection, guidance, and power to deal with all kinds of obstacles in saving these precious children physically and spiritually.

The cost of supporting a single child is approximately $50 per month. Understand The Times, by faith has committed approximately $1000 per month for the first year. We are simply letting you know by sharing the need and our vision.

We have already chosen five Bryce Homes that are relocated in another city. These are Christian families that attend a small church where the pastor is faithful to the Word of God. He and his wife have several leaders in the church that are willing to help them implement the Bryce Homes India program there.

We share this vision with you for your consideration. As more details are formulated we will post the family photos so that you will be able to see the faces of the people that make up the program.
