EVIDENCE FOR CREATION

The country of Myanmar is primarily Buddhist. This means when it comes to the subject of origins, evolution is accepted. The gospel is based on the fact God created. Would presenting the validity of biblical creation be a good way to plant seeds for the gospel?

When God sent us to Myanmar, it didn’t take long to see this was a very dark place. Everywhere you look, the religion of Buddhism marks the landscape. Buddhists believe that the universe and all things in it exist because of chance and time.

Buddhism, long before Darwinism, laid the foundation that believing in the God of the Bible is just a foolish myth. Buddhists believe that given enough time and enough good works, men can become gods. Thus, Buddhism along with evolutionism has duped millions of people into believing a lie.

On my first trip to Myanmar, I had the opportunity to speak to a number of Bible School students and show them the physical evidence supporting the Biblical creation view. One of the Bible School teachers, told me how important this information would be for reaching out to Buddhists who believed in evolution. “No one here has ever heard anything like this,” he said. “If you could only provide some materials in our language – I know that it would be a tremendous blessing as an evangelistic tool”.

Immediately, I could see the need for translating and publishing our book The Evidence for Creation. This was the first book I wrote on the topic of biblical creation. It has now been translated into twelve languages including Russian and Chinese. The book provides a very basic contrast between man’s view of origins (evolution) and God’s revelation on the topic of origins (creation).

The Evidence for Creation has now been translated into Burmese. While I was in Myanmar I was able to witness the publishing process as it took place. Printing books in Myanmar is quite an interesting experience. The printing and assembling procedure takes one back in history. The pages for the book are gathered together and then folded by hand. Once the pages are collated, they are stacked in piles. Finally the covers of the books are hand glued. Finally the books are trimmed and ready for distribution.

Understand The Times printed 1000 Evidence for Creation books in our first edition. Thanks to excellent work by Philip in coordinating the translation and printing, the project was completed and books are now being distributed.

Numerous Christian leaders in Myanmar have been given books and are now sharing the facts of creation with others. I was also able to directly confront a number of Buddhist monks about their evolutionary views and present them books. When they were challenged with the facts that show evolution is not a fact, they were dumfounded.

Please pray for the distribution of The Evidence for Creation in Myanmar. Pray that we will be able to print more books. Pray that the seeds of the truth of creation will be planted in the minds of many people and that the God of Creation will be glorified. Pray that many will come to know the God who created the heavens and the earth – Jesus Christ.
