May 25 - Iran's Supreme Leader: Jihad Will Continue Until America is No More
Article: Wars And Rumors Of Wars

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, all but said on Sunday that negotiations over the country's illicit nuclear program are over and that the Islamic Republic's ideals include destroying America.

"Those [Iranians] who want to promote negotiation and surrender to the oppressors and blame the Islamic Republic as a warmonger in reality commit treason," Khamenei told a meeting of members of parliament, according to the regime's Fars News Agency.

Khamenei emphasized that without a combative mindset, the regime cannot reach its higher Islamic role against the "oppressors' front."

May 28 - Dust In The Wind: Dust Bowl Conditions Have Returned To Kansas Oklahoma And North Texas
Article: Signs Of The Last Times

In early 1978, a song entitled "Dust in the Wind" by a rock band known as Kansas shot up the Billboard charts.  When Kerry Livgren penned those now famous lyrics, he probably never imagined that Dust Bowl conditions would return to his home state just a few short decades later.

Unfortunately, the region is now in the midst of a devastating multi-year drought which never seems to end.  Right now, 56 percent of Texas, 64 percent of Oklahoma and 80 percent of Kansas are experiencing "severe drought", and the long range forecast for this upcoming summer is not good.  In fact, some areas in the region are already drier than they were during the worst times of the 1930s.  And the relentless high winds that are plaguing that area of the country are kicking up some hellacious dust storms.  For example, some parts of Kansas experienced a two day dust storm last month.  And Lubbock, Texas was hit be a three day dust storm last month.  We are witnessing things that we have not seen since the depths of the Dust Bowl days, and unless the region starts getting a serious amount of rain, things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get any better.

May 26 - Government Plan Would Transform Israel Into The World's First Cashless Society
 Article: One World Government

Will Israel be the first cashless society on the entire planet?  A committee chaired by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's chief of staff has come up with a three phase plan to "all but do away with cash transactions in Israel".

Individuals and businesses would still be permitted to conduct cash transactions in small amounts (at least initially), but the eventual goal is to force Israeli citizens to conduct as much business as possible using electronic forms of payment.  In fact, it has been reported that Israeli officials believe that "cash is bad" because it fuels the underground economy and allows people to avoid paying taxes.  It is hoped that requiring most transactions to be conducted in cash will reduce crime and help balance the national budget.  And once 98 or 99 percent of all transactions are cashless, it will not be difficult for the Israeli government (or any other government) to go the rest of the way and ban cash transactions altogether.  But is a cashless society actually desirable?  This is a question that people all over the world will have to start asking as governments increasingly restrict the use of cash.

June 1 - Candlelight vigil in Vatican celebrates Mary's faith, witness
Article: Roman Catholic Church And The Last Days

Hundreds of clergy, religious, and laity processed through the Vatican gardens in a candlelight vigil on Saturday evening to mark the close of a month traditionally dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Led by Cardinal Angelo Comastri, the pilgrims prayed the rosary and sang Marian hymns as evening fell over the Vatican. Families with infants and small children processed alongside religious sisters and priests as meditations on the life of Christ were read.

Cardinal Comastri began the procession by reading a passage from Pope Francis' recent encyclical, Evangelii Gaudium. Mary is "the mother of the evangelizing Church and without her we cannot fully understand the spirit of the new evangelization," he reminded the faithful gathered behind the St. Peter's Basilica on May 31.

Pope Francis joined the crowds gathered for prayer in the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, where he offered a short reflection on the gospel passage that had been proclaimed - the story of Mary's visitation to her cousin Elizabeth.

May 29 - Bilderberg at 60: inside the world's most secretive conference
 Article: One World Government

It's been a week of celebrations for Henry Kissinger. On Tuesday he turned 91, on Wednesday he broke his personal best in the 400m hurdles, and on Thursday in Copenhagen, he'll be clinking champagne flutes with the secretary general of Nato and the queen of Spain, as they celebrate 60 glorious years of Bilderberg. I just hope George Osborne remembered to pack a party hat.
Thursday is the opening day of the influential three-day summit and it's also the 60th anniversary of the Bilderberg Group's first meeting, which took place in Holland on 29 May 1954. So this year's event is a red-letter occasion, and the official participant list shows that the 2014 conference is a peculiarly high-powered affair.

The chancellor, at his seventh Bilderberg, is spending the next three days deep in conference with the heads of MI6, Nato, the International Monetary Fund, HSBC, Shell, BP and Goldman Sachs International, along with dozens of other chief executives, billionaires and high-ranking politicians from around Europe. This year also includes a visit from the supreme allied commander Europe, and a return of royalty - Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, the daughter of the Bilderberg founder Prince Bernhard.

 June 2 - The Re-Unification of Christianity?
 Article: One World Religion

Are we witnessing the beginning of Christian re-unification with the Roman Catholic Church?

In the era of the "New Evangelization," as described by George Weigel and other Catholic commentators, the Church is undergoing a transformation. As a result of Vatican II, Catholics like myself have realized the need to evangelize in a world controlled by the dictatorship of relativism. Indeed, the Catholic Church is the greatest warrior for God's objective truth in the world today.

June 4 - Putin Is Looking To Get Better Ties With North Korea
 Article: Miscellaneous

Angry with the West's response over Ukraine and eager to diversify its options, Russia is moving rapidly to bolster ties with North Korea in a diplomatic nose-thumbing that could complicate the U.S.-led effort to squeeze Pyongyang into giving up its nuclear weapons program.

Russia's proactive strategy in Asia, which also involves cozying up to China and has been dubbed "Putin's Pivot," began years ago as Moscow's answer to Washington's much-touted alliance-building and rebalancing of its military forces in the Pacific. But it has gained a new sense of urgency since the unrest in Ukraine - and Pyongyang is already getting a big windfall with high-level political exchanges and promises from Russia of trade and development projects.

June 5 - Priest Explains Why Young People Are Drawn to Eucharistic Adoration
Article: Roman Catholic Church And The Last Days

Father Matthew Schneider, a Catholic priest with the Legion of Christ, writes on his blog about why Eucharistic Adoration-which The Cardinal Newman Society promotes at Catholic high schools and universities-is so powerful for young people.

Fr. Schneider laments that youth ministry programs often spend "thousands on pizza" or a "cool youth room," but "so often deprive teens of" prayer events like Adoration.  Fr. Shneider has witnessed how Adoration draws large numbers of college students, and, although teens might need more encouragement to attend, he believes Adoration should be a "bigger part of our youth ministry."

 Article: Bridges To Rome

A small group of political and religious leaders from the United States, including Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, met privately with Pope Francis at the Vatican today.
