May 28 - Adoration with Pope energizes Catholics worldwide
Article: Roman Catholic Chruch And The Last Days

The Catholic world will be united with Pope Francis on the Feast of Corpus Christi as he leads a "historic" hour of simultaneous Eucharistic Adoration.

"Even some islands in the middle of the ocean   at two in the morning    they don't have electricity     but even with that they will be in communion with us and Pope Francis for one hour,"
Archbishop Rino Fisichella said as he explained the intense reaction he is seeing to the June 2 event.

"I am proud to say that this is a historical moment for the history of the Church because for one hour all the churches in the world will be united.      We are united because the Eucharistic makes us all one body and one spirit, so we enter into the deepest meaning of the Eucharist," the archbishop told EWTN News in a May 28 interview.

May 25 - Dignity of man central to 'rethinking solidarity,' says Pope
Article: Roman Catholic Church And The Last Days

Speaking to an international group dedicated to promoting education of the Church's social teaching, Pope Francis called for a new economic view that places the human person at the center. "We must return to the centrality of man, to a more ethical view of business and human relations, without the fear of losing something," the Pope said on May 25.

The Holy Father greeted the members of the international gathering and thanked them for their efforts to promote a greater understanding of the Church's social doctrine. He reflected on the theme of the conference, "Rethinking solidarity for employment: the challenges of the 21st century."

The call to "rethink solidarity" is not a call to challenge Church teaching, but rather to apply it to the new circumstances and situations presented by the ever-changing socio-economic development of the modern world, the Pope said.

May 28 - Vatican organizing worldwide, simultaneous eucharistic adoration June 2
Article: Roman Catholic Chruch And The Last Days

Vatican officials are making strategic phone calls to some of the world's most far-flung dioceses, trying to verify that in each of the world's inhabited time zones there will be an organized hour of eucharistic adoration coinciding with 5-6 p.m. Rome time June 2.

The Vatican is trying to organize a global hour of prayer around the Eucharist "for the first time in the history of the church,"
said Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, the office organizing events for the Year of Faith.

Pope Francis will preside over adoration and benediction in St. Peter's Basilica beginning at 5 p.m. June 2, the date most dioceses in the world celebrate the feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord.

Archbishop Fisichella said the worldwide adoration would "witness to the profound piety found in the church for the Eucharist," the mystery of the real presence of Christ's body and blood, which unites and nourishes all Catholics.

May 23 - Texas Mega-Church Welcomes Islamists to 'Global Faith Forum'
Article: Ecumenical Movement - Protestants Uniting With Other Religions

The 3,000-member NorthWood Church of Keller, T.X. is holding a "Global Faith Forum" in November. In yet another Islamist-attended interfaith event, Christians will hear from a former Saudi intelligence chief, a former director-general of Al-Jazeera, officials from U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entities and the non-Muslims who embrace them.

Pastor Bob Roberts. Jr. is known for his efforts to build-bridges with Muslims. He spoke at the "Christ at the Checkpoint" conference put together by Palestinian Christians at Bethlehem Bible College. So did Florida Pastor Joel C. Hunter, who has been negative attention for his association with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity. Hunter is also critical of "Christian Zionists."

Pastor Roberts
reacted to the anti-Islam Innocence of Muslims video by suggesting that governments crack down on its distribution. He said, "There is a 'clear and present' danger the U.S. courts have ruled in regard to freedom of speech-I think that has to extend globally."
