August 17 - Iran's President Blasts "Unjust" World Order

Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad underlined here on Tuesday that the current
world order is on the edge of a precipice, and action should be taken
immediately to create a "just world order".
"Unilateral,
discriminatory and unjust structures have accelerated the collapse of the
(current) world order," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with new Irish
Ambassador to Tehran Oliver Grogan here in Tehran today. "The
world needs a new order based on justice, friendship and respect," President
Ahmadinejad added.
The Iranian president underlined the significant role of independent and
liberal states like Iran and Ireland in the
establishment of such a new world order.
During the meeting, the Irish envoy submitted his credentials to Ahmadinejad,
and called for the expansion of bilateral ties in all
fields.
Ahmadinejad had also earlier called for
cooperation among the world states to forge a new world order.
"The conditions we are experiencing today need
planning for new orders in the world and (our) cooperation and co-thinking for
organizing the conditions," Ahmadinejad said on the
sidelines of "the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building
Measures in Asia (CICA)" in Istanbul, Turkey in June.

August 16 - Arabs urged to set up strategic food stockpile

There are a
number of signs that indicate the world is headed towards a food shortage
that could end up in a food war. Certainly, Arab nations have the oil
resources and the funds to purchase unlimited supplies of food. It will be
interesting as time passes to see what transpires. The Bible indicates there
will come a time when there will be a food crisis on planet earth.
Arab states need
to set up strategic stockpiles of cereal and other basic farm products to
face any crisis and offset sharp rises in global commodity prices given
their heavy reliance on food imports, according to an official group.
In a 100-page study on
Arab food security, AOAD said such cross-border and local stockpiles should
primarily include cereal, oil and other basic food items, adding that an
agreement is needed for their geographical distribution.
"The strongest
reason for establishing such stockpiles is that the Arab world is
a food-deficit zone...it is a known fact that the region is
suffering from a big gap in most farm products, mainly cereal, because
annual farm production hardly covers half the domestic consumption at
present," it said.
"The
latest global food crisis forced many cereal producing
countries to take measures to curb exports of such products...such policies,
combined with growing regional and global risks, and the negative effects of
the global fiscal distress on investments make the establishment of a
strategic pan-Arab food stockpile an inevitable project of
paramount importance."
Except for fish,
vegetable and other minor crops, Arab nations are
suffering from a persistent shortage in all types of farm products and the
gap has steadily worsened over the past two decades, according to
AOAD.

Attacking
the Bible has always been one of Satan's most effective ploys. This war
against God has gone on for centuries, not just the last fifty years. If
Satan can inspire men to argue that the Bible is not the Word of God, nor inspired
by God, his plan is effective. Today, we have a large portion of
the church (who were once called Evangelical Christians) advocating the same
thing - saying that the Bible is not sufficient and full of
errors.

There is no biblical
basis for forming Christian doctrine from ideas portrayed by
artists, poets, musicians and writers that cannot be backed up by the
inspired Word of God. Nor does dogma and tradition find a place above the
Scriptures. There is not one verse in the Bible that supports the idea
that the mother of Jesus was "assumed" into heaven, no matter what
Pius XII proclaimed November 1, 1950.
Here
are the words of the Pope at the Angelus today:
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today, in the Solemnity of the Assumption into Heaven of the Mother of God, we
celebrate the transition from her earthly condition to heavenly beatitude the
One who generated in the flesh and accepted in faith the Lord of Life.
The veneration of the Virgin Mary accompanies the journey of the
Church from the beginning and Marian feasts appear as early as
the fourth century: some exalt the role of the Virgin in salvation
history, others celebrate key moments of her earthly existence.
The significance of today's feast is contained in the concluding words of the
dogmatic definition, promulgated by the Venerable Pius XII on 1 November 1950
that which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, "The
Immaculate Ever-Virgin Mary, Mother of God, completed the course of earthly
life, was assumed into heavenly glory, body and soul "(Apostolic
Constitution. Munificentissimus Deus: AAS 42 [1950], 770).
Artists of all ages have painted
and sculpted the sanctity of the Mother of the Lord adorning churches and
shrines. Poets, writers and musicians have paid
tribute in honour of the Virgin with hymns and chants. From East to
West, the All-Holy is invoked as Mother in
Heaven, who sustains the Son of God in her arms and in whose protection all
humanity finds refuge, with the ancient prayer: " Under thy protection,
our refuge, our refuge, Holy Mother of God, Holy Mother of God; despise not
our petitions, in our need, but from all dangers, deliver us always".
Dear brothers and sisters,
let us consider that to her - as stated by the Servant of God Paul VI - "assumed
into heaven, has not abandoned her mission of
intercession and salvation" (Ap. Ex. Marialis
Cultus, 18, AAS 66 [1974 ], 130). To
her, the guide of the Apostles, support of Martyrs, light of the
Saints, we turn our prayer, imploring her to join us in this life,
to help us look toward Heaven and greet us one day next to Her Son
Jesus".

August 17 - U.S. Sounds Alarm at China's Military Buildup

The Pentagon voiced alarm over China's military
buildup, saying it was expanding its advantage over Taiwan
and investing heavily in ballistic and cruise missile capabilities that could
one day pose a challenge to U.S. dominance in the western Pacific.
In its annual report to Congress on Chinese military capabilities, the
Pentagon also cited China's advances in electronic
warfare. The U.S. government has been the target of cyber intrusions the
report says appear to have originated in China and aimed
to steal military secrets. "These intrusions focused on exfiltrating
information, some of which could be of strategic or
military utility," the report said.
Washington has long voiced alarm over China's military buildup opposite
Taiwan. In this year's report, which was delivered months behind schedule, the
Pentagon said China's military edge over Taiwan was
continuing to "shift in the mainland's favor," the main
argument used by the Obama administration in approving the arms deal.
A particular concern for the U.S. is China's development of an antiship
ballistic missile with a projected range of nearly 1,000 miles. The missile is
meant to give the PLA the capability of attacking ships in
the western Pacific, the report said. Some experts say the
missile could herald the end of U.S. naval domination.
The new missile is part of what the Pentagon described as
"the most active land-based ballistic and cruise missile program in the
world."
The report said China's military has
established information-warfare units to develop viruses to attack computer
systems of its adversaries as well as tactics to protect its own networks. The
ability to conduct cyber attacks fits within China's broader goal of conducting
asymmetric warfare to exploit weaknesses in stronger enemies like the U.S.

in the last days according to the Bible. Proponents of this plan say that
"global problems" need "global solutions." Further,
these same promoters of world government are calling for a "global peace
plan" that would unite world religions. Watch the following

August 17 - Catholics pray thousands of rosaries ahead of the Pope's visit to the UK

preparing for the Pope's visit by praying the rosary and spending
hours in Eucharistic adoration (staring at a wafer contained in a monstrance
believed to be Jesus). Both practices are not found in the Bible
