"
For
you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as
children of light." Ephesians 5:8
In
Matthew's Gospel Jesus tells us that we are "the light of the world".
We are to be walking in light.
Ephesians 4:30-32 gives insight to what may
cause us to walk in darkness rather than light. Importantly, Scripture
reveals the remedy for this condition. "Grieve not the Holy Spirit of
God, by whom you are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all
bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put
away from you, with all malice; and be you kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake has
forgiven you."
If you find
yourself venturing out into spiritually dark areas where you can readily
plunge downward, think prayerfully and not pridefully about the steps
you are taking. It
takes "Light", the Holy Spirit, for you to "see". The Spirit reveals the
truths of God. When your eyes are open to the Spirit... your whole life
is light.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works
and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Let
us bask in the "Sonshine" of His love, as we walk with Jesus, the "Light
of the World".
