The gospel according to Rick Warren. What about those who are handicapped, for example in a wheel chair or paralyzed? What about them? What about proclaiming the gospel according to the scriptures and not according to ecumenical unity? Would that qualify? Is "America's pastor" the authority or is the Bible?

God wants Christians to "get in shape" physically so they can be used for His purposes, says Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren.

In an entry on Warren's Daily Hope devotional on Tuesday titled, "Why God Wants You to Get in Shape," the best-selling author explained that God wants believers to "get in shape," and quotes 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which reads: "Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." "How do you do that? How do you honor God with your body? Real simple: You take care of it," wrote Warren, adding that "God set up the principles of good health. He doesn't just want you to have a pure heart. He wants your body to be in shape so he can use you more effectively."
